Carol J. Reese

Carol J Reese, age 92, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2024, at Parkside, North East. Carol was born March 18, 1932, the daughter of the late Jack E and Caroline (Spacek) Thompson.

She and her late husband, Daniel P Reese, whom she married on May 25, 1957, owned, and operated General Exterminating Company in Erie, PA.

Carol was a musician for many years. She played string bass for several years, then played drums with her mom in the Symphonettes All-Girl Dance Band for 35 years. She graduated from East High School in 1949 and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of North East where she sang in the choir and played in the handbell choir.

She was a past golfing member at Lake View Country Club and a past member of the Keynotes Drum & Bugle Corps and Eastern Star.

Carol was preceded in death by stepdaughter, Barbara Reese (Bill Schaal) of Harborcreek, PA.

Survivors include one son James D Reese (Phyllis) of Harborcreek, PA, and one daughter Gail L Reese (Jim Jennings) of Wimauma, FL; two grandchildren, Ryan Reese (Alexis) and Shane Reese (Kelli); two great-grandchildren, Payton Reese and Andi Reese; two step-grandchildren, Barbara Yaple (George) and Cindy Sherman (Barry); two step-great-grandchildren, Gregory Yaple and Ashley Hadzega; and two step great-great Grandchildren.

The Family would like to thank the staff of the Community Nurses of North East and Parkside, North East for their years of dedicated love and care of Carol.

Arrangements are being handled by W Tad Bowers Funeral Home. Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. Private interment will take place at the North East Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
