Carlton G. Stetson

August 14, 1923 ~ February 10, 2021 (age 97)



Carlton G. Stetson, 97, of Westfield, NY passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at his residence.

He was born on August 14, 1923, in Mina, NY a son of the late Thomas H. and Bessie A. Cummings Stetson.

Prior to his retirement Carlton and his partner Ralph Desin founded Concord Plumbing and Heating in North East, PA.  Carlton was a member of Olive Lodge #575 F. & A.M. in Sherman, NY and the Zem Zem Shrine, Erie, PA where he was on the Directors Staff and a member of The Royal Order of Jesters and the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge #118, Westfield, NY.

One of Carlton’s greatest joys was his family.  He was a wonderful father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great grandfather.  He always had words of wisdom and guidance, and good stories for his family and friends.  He enjoyed gardening and golfing.  He played in the Wednesday afternoon league at Lakeside Golf Course with his good friend Bill Ottaway well into his 90’s.

Carlton was preceded in death by his wife, Georgianna Stetson in 2011, his daughter, Catherine A. Deuink, and her husband William, three brothers, Harold Stetson, Herbert Stetson, and Ernest Stetson, four sisters, Melissa E. Traylor, Edna A. Greenwald, Nellie Green, and Mabel Rose.  He is survived by three sons, John Stetson (Chris), Jim Stetson (Kim) and Carter Stetson (Lynn).  Also survived by seven Grandchildren, Julie (Deuink) Burrelli, Jill (Deuink) Pace, Scott Stetson, Shannon Bannister, Abigail Stetson, Lindsay (Stetson) Santiago and Garrett Stetson, and eleven Great Grandchildren, Katelyn, Cassidy and Isabella Burrelli, Michaela and William Pace, Tyler and Haden Stetson, Elijah and Lucas Santiago and Caroline and Henry Stetson.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home, 92 S. Lake St., North East, PA. Due to current pandemic and related guidelines, private visitation and services were held for his family.  Interment was in North East Cemetery.
