Cullen James Hazelton, 49, of North East, PA, died peacefully, on Monday, January 12, 2026, after battling cancer for 10 months.  Cullen was born on August 1, 1976, in Erie, PA to James Orman Hazelton and Kathleen DeVore Hazelton.

Cullen was a 1995 graduate of Harbor Creek High School.  He went on to attend Penn State Behrend and continued his studies at University Park.  While at University Park he worked as an assistant golf professional at Penn State’s Blue and White Golf Courses.  Cullen later developed a passion for construction and worked in Florida, Pennsylvania and the North Dakota oil fields.

Cullen was a huge fan of football.  He particularly loved watching the Steelers and Penn State.  He was a creative potter and ceramic artist.  Cullen enjoyed everything outdoors-especially hunting and he was a great fisherman.  He loved visiting his parents in Bradenton, FL and fishing at Jiggs Landing Preserve, while listening to Jimmy Buffett music in the background. 

Cullen was preceded in death by his uncle, Richard B. DeVore, and his aunts, Jacqueline Hazelton Kutz, Mary Ann DeVore and Ann DeVore.  Cullen is survived by his father and mother, James and Kathleen DeVore Hazelton, his sister, Kirsten Hazelton of Bradenton, FL; his uncle, Douglas DeVore of Port Charlotte, FL; his aunt, Sally DeVore of Erie, Pa; and many cousins.

A private ceremony and celebration of his life will be held by the family.
