DOUGLAS W. MILLER

Douglas W. Miller, of North East, PA passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024. Douglas was born on January 27, 1947, in Erie, PA, a son of the late Herbert and Rosalind Miller.  He graduated from the apprentice program at General Electric and later earned an engineering degree from Gannon University, where he went on to have a successful career as a draftsman and engineer.

An avid outdoorsman, Douglas loved to fish and hunt, but it was his role as a grandfather that brought him the most joy. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he was their biggest fan—never missing a game, always cheering them on with a heart full of pride. In addition to his professional work, Douglas was deeply involved in his community. He proudly served for many years on the Wattsburg Area School District Board and was an active member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was also a proud member of The American Legion Post #105, in North East.

Douglas is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Barbara Morgan Miller. his sons Scott Miller (and Esperanza), William Miller (and Natalie) as well as his grandchildren: Stephanie, Marco, Marisol, Mya, Jessica, and Eruviel Avila Rojo. He leaves behind his brother Jim (and Fran) Miller and his sister Marsha Miller (and Madeline Filippo).

Family and friends will be received at the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home, 92 S. Lake St., North East, PA on Thursday, November 14th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will take place on Friday, November 15th at 11:00 AM at the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home.
