Elizabeth (Betty) Riefstahl, 98, was called to the Lord on Friday, September 22, 2023.
She was the only daughter of the late Bert and Elizabeth Storm. Betty was the loving wife of the late Jim Riefstahl. She is survived by her children: Jim (Christine) Riefstahl of Largo, FL, Karen Perdue of North East, and Carol Stock Lowery of Smithfield, VA. She is also survived by six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Betty graduated from North East High School and held various jobs over the years. Those included working at the Bus Station in Erie as a teenager, a bank teller, and at Hill and Hill Engineers. She also attended the Business College in Erie. Her most cherished position was that of mother and wife.
Betty was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in North East. She was active in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Bible study, Valpo Guild, and the church rummage sales. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Betty had a quiet strength and determination; a wonderful homemaker who loved to read, do crosswords, and knit. The family wishes to thank Brevillier Village for her care over the last several years.
