Emma Sue Cherico, April 18th, 1932-February 12, 2025, passed from this life to the next surrounded by a loving family at home after a brief illness at the age of 92, but ageless at heart.
She was an art teacher for much of her life. She encouraged countless children to explore their creativeness and was innovative in the methods she used; no textbook ever reared its head in her class, it was all interactive and hands-on. She was also an avid reader, camper, and hiker, a talented artist and woodworker, and a traveler. She was generous, caring, funny, intelligent, loving, stubborn, and determined to get everything possible out of life. She was the Matriarch; the glue that held our family together. During her life, she was interested in everything, and would try just about anything, from golf to rock climbing. But above all, she was a daughter, sister, and a wife and was known as Mom, Grandma, and Nana to a family who will always love and admire her.
She is survived by a sister, two daughters, a step daughter, 5 grandchildren, and a wealth of great-grandchildren as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren from her long-time loving partnership with her second husband, Syl.
Emma Sue did not want a public viewing or service of any kind, and her family will honor that wish and remember her as she lived.
