Esther Pearl Lexow of North East, PA passed away at Brevillier Village, Erie, PA on Monday, February 20, 2023. She was born in Tavistock, Ontario, Canada, and moved to North East at the age of one. The daughter of The Reverend Arno and Elsie Puscheck of North East, who proceeded her in death.
Esther was also proceeded in death by her husband Charles W. Lexow and daughter Ruth Ann Krueger of North East, PA, and by brothers Melvin and Wilber Puscheck, and sisters Amy and Evelyn Puscheck.
She is survived by her children Paul C Lexow (Deby), Mark S. Lexow (Donna), and Beth M. Jannsen (John), as well as her eleven grandchildren; Michael, Sean, Charles, Brett, Adam, Matthew, Kimberly, Jill, Allison, Jennifer, Stacey, and 22 great-grandchildren.
Esther worked in the North East School system for 25 years, with most of her time spent in the Guidance Department.
St. Paul Lutheran Church in North East was a major part of Esther’s life, where she lead women’s bible study, taught Sunday School, sang in the Choir, and was a substitute organist. She was also active in local and international activities of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, and the Lutheran Layman’s League, where she was secretary of the planning for the international LLL convention in Buffalo.
In addition to her other activities, Esther was past secretary of the North East Women’s Club and volunteered at the Food Pantry.
Friends will be received at the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home, 92 S. Lake St., North East, PA on Sunday, February 26, 2023, from 2 to 5 P.M. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, North East on Monday, February 27, 2023, at 11 A.M. Interment will be in North East Cemetery.
