Gordon will be reunited with his parents, Louis, and Hulda (Wagner) Maas, and his brothers, Richard Maas (Violet), Louis Maas (Betty), Donald Maas (Sheila), and Carl H. Maas.

Gordon’s wonderful life will forever be cherished by his loving wife, Janis (Feidler) Maas, of 24,995 days. Gordon and Janis were high school sweethearts and married on February 21st, 1953. Gordon is also remembered and loved by his children, David Maas (Kathleen), Carl Maas, Darryl Maas (Susan), and Jana Maas; his grandchildren, Katelyn Maas-Crawford (Foster), Zachary Maas (Ashley), William Maas (Megan), and Tarryn Maas Kostek (Eric); his great-grandchildren, Olivia, Peyton, Leona, Conner, Tylor, and Kase; and several nieces and nephews.

Gordon was a lifelong resident of North East, Pennsylvania and graduated from North East High School in 1950 after a successful football and basketball career. He earned an athletic scholarship from St. Bonaventure University but declined the scholarship to begin his life as a Pennsylvania grape grower and owner of Welch’s Grape Cooperative. In 1954, he started working at Keystone Foods in North East. He was with Keystone Foods and Dean Custom Foods as a process manager for 43 years, retiring to the farm in 1997. He then became a full-time grape grower after having done both jobs for all those years. He was baptized, confirmed, and married at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he was a lifelong member.

Gordon was a thoughtful and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who made wonderful memories with the ones he loved. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
