JOHN GAYLORD STODDARD
John Gaylord Stoddard, age 79, of Pittsfield, formerly of North East, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 10th, 2021. He was born in North East on May 13th, 1942, son of the late John and Mary Stoddard.
John was a Vietnam Veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1963. Following his military service, he worked at GTE for 35 years until his retirement.
John was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Evelyn (Dutton) Stoddard; sisters, Carol, and Francis; brothers, Donald and Robert. He is survived by his four sons, George, and his wife Brenda and Rev. John Stoddard, and his wife Marlaine, of Ripley, NY, Jeffrey Stoddard and his wife Candace, and James Stoddard, of Pittsfield. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family and are under the care of the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home, 92 S. Lake Street. North East, PA. Memorials may be made to the charities of one's choice. To send condolences please visit
