LYLE A. COX SR.

Lyle A. Cox Sr., age 84 of South Ripley, NY, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie.

LYLE was born on August 7, 1939, and was the son of the late Fred and Hazel Cox of Corry, PA.

Prior to his retirement, he worked as a laborer at the Erie General Electric Co.  Lyle was an avid Hunter and loved the outdoors so much that he hunted in both PA and NY states.  Lyle loved it a great deal and one of his favorite pastimes was going to auctions.  He was also a coin collector and just loved old antiques.

In addition to his parents, Lyle was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Hoag in 1987 and his son Scott Cox in 2016.  Lyle is survived by his son Lyle Cox Jr and his wife Michelle DiOrazio Cox of Bear Lake, PA, his sister, Norma Esterline and her husband Ted Esterline of North East, PA and his brother, Charles Cox and his wife Caroline Cox of Little Coolie, PA.  He is also survived by 5 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to call at the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home, 92 S. Lake St., North East, PA on Sunday, August 11th from 1 P.M. until the time of funeral services there at 3 PM.  Rev. David Kuchta will officiate.
