Norman Field Obituary

NORMAN HARRY FIELD

Norman Harry Field, age 79 and lifetime resident of North East PA, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 16, 2020.

Norman was born on September 11, 1941 in Jamestown, New York to the late George and Gertrude Edwards Field.

Norman graduated from North East High School with the class of 1959 and attended Edinboro University as a student of the Fine Arts.

Norman enjoyed a career with The Electric Materials Company for forty-nine years and was Manager of Component Machining, retiring from that position in 2013.

Norm possessed a unique and philosophical soul who enjoyed reading, golfing and taking walks through town. Norm had a dry sense of humor and was well known for his love of Classic Chevy Impalas, tinkering, and working on his latest project. Norm was an extraordinary artist in the mediums of watercolor, pencil, 3-D and sculpture. Most cherished were his sculpted ladies which he proudly displayed throughout his home.

Norm loved his family and friends with a generous heart, always willing to lend a hand, offer advice, or simply chit chat. In addition to his parents, Norm was proceeded in death by his sister Lois Irwin, son Jeffery Dale Field, his second wife of 28 years Lois McGrath Field, and his step-granddaughter Kayla McGrath.

Surviving Norm is his brother Richard Field of El Paso TX, son Norman Scott Field (Barb) of Erie PA, his daughter Cathy Shader (Henry) of Cambridge Springs PA, his three stepsons-Christoper McGrath (Lynette) of Aiken SC, David McGrath (Genienne) of Des Moines Iowa, and Jason McGrath of Erie Pa., his five grandchildren Leah Berta (Joe), Justin Shader (Alyssa), Cat Shader, Alaina Perry (Kevin), and Jeff Field (Noelle), and two great-grandchildren- Sophie Berta, six months and Everett Field, who will be arriving in March 2021. Norm also leaves behind his former wife Carol Field of North East PA and his best friend Brent Morris of Rochester New York.

Due to COVID 19 and Norman’s wishes, there will be no formal services. A celebration of Norman’s life is tentatively planned for the summer of 2021.
