Opportune Mary Wholaver
Opportune Mary Wholaver, 88, of North East, PA, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
She was born on September 10, 1936, in Ohio a daughter of the late Alva and Florence Anico Adams.
She enjoyed cooking and watching TV. Opportune was always working at a restaurant during her husband’s 20 years in the military at different base assignments. They retired in Sherman, NY and she worked at the Peak N Peek Ski Resort, Chautauqua Institution, Welch’s, and Better Baked Foods.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Dwayne A. Wholaver Sr., July 9, 2004; a daughter Dawn A. Wholaver, January 8, 1962; brother, Thomas Adams; and sisters, Tressie Boring and Betty J. Boring.
Opportune is survived by her children, Deborah Croscutt (Michael) of Great Falls, MT, Dwayne A. Wholaver Jr. of North East, PA, Dianna L. Kane of Phoenix, AZ, and her sister Florence Rainey (Harry) of Westover, PA. She is also survived by several grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Private services and interment will be held at the convenience of her family. Memorial donations in her name may be made to Crescent Hose Co., P.O. Box 89, North East, PA 16428.
