Richard Kightlinger, of Erie County, PA was born December 28, 1937, to Virgil and Ruth Kightlinger, in Sugarcreek Township, PA. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Marilyn Kightlinger, Kenneth Kightlinger, Jack Kightlinger, N. Jean Kightlinger McGill, Gary Kightlinger, and Gerald Kightlinger. He is survived by siblings Beverly Kightlinger Rapp, Donald Kightlinger, and Sandra Kightlinger Reyburn.
Richard is the beloved husband of Brenda, and the father of R. Darell Kightlinger, Todd Kightlinger, Mark Kightlinger, and Pamela Kightlinger Powell. He is survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
Richard was a veteran of the US Navy and served as a radarman onboard the USS Nicholas-DDE449; home port: Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He was employed by Terella Drywall for 36 years and Home Depot for 17 years. His hobbies included woodworking, geocaching and playing card games on his computer; most notable was FreeCell.
Friends will be received at the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home, 92 S. Lake St., North East, PA on Thursday August 19, 2021, from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. followed by a lite luncheon and a period of fellowship at the American Legion Post #105, North East, PA. A graveside service with Military Honors, in Grahamville Cemetery, North East, PA, will be held at a later date. Memorial may be made to your local library.
