ROGER “ROG” COURTNEY STOICA
Roger “Rog” Courtney Stoica, 69, of North East, Pa. passed away Friday, March 19, 2021, peacefully in his home surround by his family as a result of a recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
Roger was born on January 10, 1952 to the late John and June Banco Stoica in Erie, Pennsylvania.
In his younger years, Roger was lead guitarist in many local bands. He was employed by General Electric for 36 years as a machinist before retiring in 2011. After retirement, his part-time job was watching his grandchildren which became his most favorite pastime. He never missed an opportunity to cheer on his grandkids. “Pa” was their biggest fan. In addition, he found much joy while working outside, making furniture and holiday decorations for his girls, late night bonfires, and watching sports, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers. Roger cherished his wife and 4 daughters and leaving them was his greatest struggle.
Besides his parents, Roger was proceeded in death by a brother, Charles Stoica.
Roger is survived by his wife of 36 years, Patti Stoica, daughter, Janel Stoica of North East, twin daughters, Katy Kloss and husband Jordan Kloss, Maggi Stoica-Abraham (TJ), and Lacey Stoica (Jess) all of Harborceek. His 7 grandchildren, twins DeeAnna and Derrick, Kimmi, Sageon, Parker, Paisley, and Sesilee and one great-grand daughter, Avianna. He is also survived by his sister, Donna Eades (Delmas) and many cousins including Carylon Davis and nephews Danny and Chad Eades.
Friends will be received with all public safety guidelines pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic will be strictly adhered to including the mandate for the use of face masks and social distancing at the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home, 92 S. Lake St., North East, PA on Tuesday, March 23, from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. and are invited to attend the graveside funeral service on Wednesday at 11 A.M. at the North East Cemetery. Rev. David Kuchta will officiate.
