Ronald J. Morris

June 12, 1942 ~ June 25, 2022 (age 80) 80 Years Old

Obituary

Ronald, John Morris, 80, passed away June 25, 2022.  He was born on June 12, 1942, in Erie, PA son of the late John and Sophie (Pius Morris).  Ron graduated from Harborcreek High School in 1960 and attended Penn State College.  He served in the U.S. Navy 1966-1969.  Ron worked for Prudential Ins., General Electric, Lord Manufacturing, Hammermill, Copes Vulcan, and Kaiser Aluminum.  His dream job was owner-operator of his grape farm.  After selling the farm, he worked for other farmers and at Peek and Peak.

He was an active member of St. Gregory Church and Knights of Columbus and a member of the American Legion, Post #105, North East.

Ron was quick-witted with a story for every occasion, like meeting Richard Widmark and family at the Rainbow Motor Court.  They wanted to buy Ron’s pet skunk for $50----no deal.  Ron was the funniest man I ever met says Marty.  His fondest childhood memories were vacations at his grandparents’ farm in Punxsutawney.

He enjoyed hunting, gardening, county fairs, classic and muscle cars (owning four), westerns, casinos, cards and dominoes, and picnics where he entertained with his wild and crazy jeep rides and snipe hunts.

Polish and Slovakian foods were his favorites, and he made the best cheese bread and pagac.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Marty (Baker) Morris; children Ron Morris (Charis), Alisa Demyanovich, Mark Morris, grandchildren Amber Peters (Sean), Chad Demyanovich, Morgan Demyanovich (Ben), Donald Becker, and Jeffrey Morris, great-grandchildren William and Piper Peters and Christopher Ropelewski: brothers Jerry Morris and Scott Morris (Joanne) and many nieces and nephews

Ron was preceded in death by his siblings, Jim Morris, and Nancy Szoszorek.
