He developed several innovations in dental equipment, including floss holders and plastic trays for autoclaving.
Ben was a lifelong golfer and gardener. After retiring from full-time dentistry, Ben devoted his time to volunteering, including providing dental services at St. Paul’s Free Clinic in Erie. He drove patients for 20 years and over 100,000 miles for the American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery program. He served on the McCord Memorial Library board, the North East Township Water & Sewer board, and North East Jaycees among other civic volunteer positions.
