Shirley M. (Meehl) Lewis

Shirley M. Lewis, 93, of North East, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Brevillier Village.  She was born on October 22, 1929, in North East, PA a daughter of the late Gilbert and Sarah Tate Meehl.

Shirley and her husband Frank owned and operated Franks Automotive in North East for many years.  She was a member of Park United Methodist Church in North East and was a member and Past Worthy Matron of Shiloh Chapter #153, Order of the Eastern Star in North East.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Lewis in 2016, her brothers, Richard Meehl, Carlton (Stub) Meehl, and Roger (Bill) Meehl, her sisters Lois Osborne and Martha (Molly) Schultz.  She is survived by her son, Jerry (Gail) Lewis, and two daughters, Sally Abata, and Lynn (Todd) Hart, seven grandchildren, Kristen, Karmen, Justin, Jason, Stephanie, Vincent, and Julia, 19 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home, 92 S. Lake St., North East, PA on Wednesday, August 23 from 1 P.M. until the time of funeral services there at 3 P.M.  Pastor Eric Leonard will officiate.  Private graveside services at  North East Cemetery will be held at the convenience of her family.
